Staying protected against COVID-19 remains an important part of public health in Ireland, and Ryder’s Pharmacy is here to help. As part of the HSE’s vaccination program, we offer first, second, and booster doses in line with the latest guidelines.
Currently, COVID-19 boosters are recommended for certain groups, including:
If you are not in one of these groups, you may still be eligible for a booster after consulting with your GP or pharmacist.
What to Know Before Booking
Before scheduling your booster, it’s important to check eligibility and ensure enough time has passed since your last dose or a COVID-19 infection. In most cases, a minimum of six months is required. For added convenience, many pharmacies, including Ryder’s, offer the option to receive the flu vaccine alongside the COVID-19 booster, helping you stay protected as winter approaches.
To schedule your COVID-19 booster, contact Ryder’s Pharmacy directly or visit the HSE website for the latest updates on eligibility and availability.
If you have concerns about side effects or vaccine safety, our team is available to provide guidance and answer any questions. Check our FAQs below for more details.
The Antigen test consists of a nose swab antigen test to check for a current COVID-19 (coronavirus) infection.
The pharmacist will take a swab from each nostril. If your test is negative, you will be emailed an EU Digital Covid Certificate in less than an hour which you can upload to your phone (Covid Tracker App or similar). Antigen tests are not as accurate as a PCR test and are designed to detect the virus at levels that are more likely to mean you’re infectious and could spread the infection to others.
